Intensive Therapy / Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)
Our Intensive Therapy Program is our primary focus as we know it is where your child will see the greatest changes in the shortest amount of time. The intensive program is traditionally set for at least two hours a day, five days a week for three weeks. For optimal results, it is recommended that a child take part in intensive therapy once per quarter and for each intensive block to be at least 2-weeks in length. However, we do understand that this may be challenging for many families for many different reasons. Thus, we do book one-week intensives therapy programs as well.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is essential for helping your child develop important motor skills
needed for stability and mobility. By focusing on building core strength and improving body awareness, our therapy lays a strong foundation for other skills like fine motor and oral motor development. Starting physical therapy early can significantly enhance your child’s movement abilities and overall functional skills.
Our approach includes:
- Boosting endurance and tolerance through handling and positioning.
- Developing protective reactions and balance techniques.
- Integrating vestibular and proprioceptive input for better coordination.
- Enhancing postural alignment and positioning.
- Cultivating awareness of body orientation and spatial awareness.
- Teaching the mechanics of walking, running, and jumping.
- Improving cross-body coordination and control.
Physical therapy with kids is truly unique and filled with fun! Our SMILE Team turns therapy into playtime, setting up engaging activities that align with your child’s goals—often without them even realizing they’re exercising. We make the journey of growth and development an enjoyable adventure for your child!
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is essential for helping your child develop important motor skills needed for stability and mobility. By focusing on building core strength and improving body awareness, our therapy lays a strong foundation for other skills like fine motor and oral motor development. Starting occupational therapy early can significantly enhance your child’s movement abilities and overall functional skills.
